He also has worked in a show at Newcastle Collage called 'Rodney & Julie J' by Victoria Baker (Director of Two Thirds Theatre Company), A contempory take on Romeo & Juliet with a twist, playing the role of Tyrone (Tybalt) which is now being taken to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Corey Jay is a commited young actor who is always keen to give any piece he is involved in his full attention. He works well with others and is always supportive to his fellow peers in the rehearsal process when emotions are running high. Corey Jay is always optimistic about any given situation, even if rehearsals may not go as planned, he is able to work around any difficulties that may come his way and get the job done. He has a number of skills with his voice, such as the ability to mimic some other voice actors he listens to for inspieration. He also has a good use of physicality when performing physical theatre pieces, being able to put himself into obscure positions for Artaudian theatre pieces for example. He has taken inspiration from a number of voice actors when he is putting a voice to his characters in a piece of theatre. An example is Mark Hamil's Joker for when Corey Jay is portraying a psychotic character or Cam Clark for when he is a sophisticated but also intimidating character.
He is always eager to participate in any type of theatre, as he has no particular preference and is always looking to experiment with different styles of theatre. He is however very keen to participate in Kabuki Theatre should the opportunity arise for him. Corey Jay is also inclined to take part in voice acting, to put into practice what he has learned throughout his years studying Acting. Corey Jay has a great interest in Japanese culture and it's theatre styles, aswell as J-horror which has been a topic in his dissertation. He finds the physicallity used in Japanese theatre facinating and is influenced by it when acting certian roles that require as such.
